About appliance service in Porter Ranch

Fire season and your HVAC
During the Saddle Ridge Fire, which started on October 10, 2019 and burned 8,799 acres, LAFD ordered a mandatory evacuation of Porter Ranch north of the 118 Freeway from Reseda to Iverson. Parts of Porter Ranch are in the City of Los Angeles Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone. Smoke and ash clog filters and coat outdoor coils. A furnace control board in Porter Ranch

Water, ice makers and boil-water notices
LADWP lists Porter Ranch among its San Fernando Valley communities, supplied by a blend of aqueduct water, local groundwater and imported State Water Project water. In August 2025, LADWP issued a boil-water notice for parts of ZIP codes 91326 and 91344 and advised making ice only with boiled water or another safe source. If your ice maker misbehaves after a water event or a filter change, tell us when you call.
Laundry upstairs
Most Porter Ranch homes are detached houses, and in a two-story house the laundry room may be upstairs. A leaking washer there can damage the ceiling below, so shut the water supply valves if you see a leak and call us. We also repair gas and electric dryers.

It might be, but several faults look alike: a stopped evaporator fan, a defrost problem that has iced the coil, a control fault, or a sealed-system leak. We diagnose before recommending anything. In the August 2025 notice covering parts of ZIP codes 91344 and 91326, LADWP advised making ice with boiled water or another safe source and noted that most household filters do not remove bacteria. If a notice is issued again, turn the ice maker off and discard any ice made while the notice is in effect.
