What does Samsung 40E mean?
The ice maker has detected a fault — typically the ice tray motor has stalled, or the ice maker sensor circuit is open. Displayed on models with an ice maker in the door.
What causes Samsung 40E?
- Ice clump jamming the tray motor
- Failed ice maker assembly (motor or sensor)
- Water supply line kinked or frozen
- Inlet valve not delivering water to the ice maker
How to fix Samsung 40E yourself
- Lift the ice maker arm to the OFF position, wait 10 minutes, then lower it to ON.
