What does Samsung 40E mean?
Samsung lists 40E and 40C as an ice room fan error: the control board is not sensing rotation from the fan that cools the ice compartment. While that fan is stopped, ice production slows or stops.
What causes Samsung 40E?

How to fix Samsung 40E yourself
- 1 Write down the exact code and the model number from the label inside the fridge. Samsung advises against unplugging the fridge or pressing panel buttons to clear a code unless its own steps tell you to, because that makes the fault harder to trace.
