LG OE — Drain Error
What does LG OE mean?
The washer did not drain within the expected time window (typically 5 minutes). Water remains in the drum at the end of the drain phase.
What causes LG OE?
- Clogged pump filter (most common — collects coins, lint, small items)
- Kinked or blocked drain hose
- Drain hose end inserted too deeply into standpipe (creates a siphon lock)
- Failed drain pump motor
How to fix LG OE yourself
- Locate the pump filter — on front-loaders it's behind a small access panel on the lower-front. Place a towel and shallow pan before opening.
- Slowly unscrew the filter cap — water will flow out. Remove the filter and clean it under running water.
- Check the drain hose path: it should have no sharp kinks and the end inserted into the standpipe should not go deeper than 6 inches.
- Run a Spin Only cycle to test.
