LG IE — Inlet Water Error
What does LG IE mean?
The washer did not fill to the required level within the allotted time. The control board expects a certain water level within about 4 minutes of the fill valve opening.
What causes LG IE?
- Supply valves behind the washer are not fully open
- Kinked supply hoses
- Clogged inlet valve screens (mesh filter at the hose connection points)
- Failed water inlet valve solenoid
- Low home water pressure (below 20 PSI)
How to fix LG IE yourself
- Verify both hot and cold supply valves behind the washer are fully open (turned counterclockwise as far as they go).
- Check for kinks in the supply hoses.
- Turn off the supply valves, disconnect the hoses, and inspect the small mesh screens inside the inlet valve ports — clean any sediment with a toothbrush.
- Reconnect and test.
