LG Er FF — Freezer Fan Motor Error
What does LG Er FF mean?
The freezer evaporator fan motor is not running or is not at the expected speed. Often accompanied by warm temperatures and the fridge making no fan noise.
What causes LG Er FF?
- Ice accumulation jamming the fan blade (most common)
- Failed fan motor
- Door switch not registering that the door is closed
How to fix LG Er FF yourself
- Open the freezer and listen — the fan should spin within seconds of the door closing.
- Unplug for 24 hours with both doors open to fully defrost — this resolves ice-jam fan issues.
- Check the door switch by pressing it manually; the light should go off and you should hear the fan start.
